Gordon W Lyde

Director of The Men of Evolution Programs

Gordon W Lyde grew up in the foster home system of the 1970s in New Haven, Connecticut. As a result, he endured a rough childhood. While navigating the street life, Gordon found himself in the drug trade and became his best client. Gordon ended up in the criminal justice system and served 9 years, 8 months, and 3 weeks of a 10-year sentence in prison.

After his release in October of 2004, Gordon made it his mission not to return to prison. In the years following his release, Gordon got clean from all drugs in 2008, enrolled in college, became a drug counselor, and started giving back to the community.

Gordon has worked his way through various Connecticut non-profit agencies and became known in the reentry circle as an agent for change. In 2022, Gordon helped Community Partners in Action build and open the Waterbury Reentry Welcome Center, providing assistance to men and women returning home after incarceration.

In 2022, Gordon received a Full Absolute Pardon from Connecticut, and the following year, he began working in the Connecticut Department of Corrections as a substance abuse counselor. Currently, Gordon is the Senior Program Manager for Hangtime, a town council member in Torrington, Connecticut, and holds a clinician position at the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
